My stay at Roda Beach Hotel         by Luke Crouch
I have been to Corfu a number of times & me & my family have always stayed with Spiros Banos in self-catering apartments
which we thoroughly enjoy. This year we have stayed at Roda Beach Hotel which is all-inclusive, the reason being that when my Dad was on the internet it was too good a deal to refuse. As we all know, self-catering apartments are designed for warm Corfu weather and, having been in October before, we know the weather can be similar to England. So, Dad decided to ‘have a go’ at a little more comfort.
Well, Roda Beach does have its comforts; the huge reception/lounge has lots of settees and easy chairs which is what you would expect from a  5-star  place. It is very welcoming and the rooms are furnished to a high standard BUT, if you want the real Greek feeling, then you must visit Roda village where you will find many very friendly Greek characters who are still running tavernas in the authentic way. You cannot fault the food at Roda Beach as there is a huge choice and even if you were the pickiest person in the world you would be sure to find something to indulge in. However, if you want traditional Greek dishes then definitely visit the village. All in all, the hotel is very good & I would recommend it BUT, if you do stay at the hotel then please walk or drive into Roda.
